This can feel fairly easy when business is thriving and nearly impossible during challenging times. But the best managers are able to keep employees inspired and focused regardless of the kind of situation the company is currently in. Use these tips to keep your staff members motivated year-round, even during challenging periodsMake sure everyone understands your visionIf your kollektiv doesnt understand what theyre trying to accomplish, theyll quickly lose faith in you. If it appears as if you dont have a real plan in place or are grabbing at straws instead of working toward a few set goals, theyll sense chaos and may start to panic. Regardless of the situation, its important to articulate your vision to your staff members. When everyone is working toward a common goal, it helps to keep all members of that company moving in the same direction. A clear vision also gives people confidence, both in you and in your company.Know how to read your employeesA good manager is able to read their employees in order to get a sense of how theyre feeling. When youre able to understand how the rest of the schreibstube is doing, youre able to alter your words and leadership style accordingly. If it becomes blatantly obvious that everyone is disinterested, you can talk to them and get them motivated again. Employees dont want to feel as if theyre hearing a speech written by a PR person, particularly during stressful times. Its okay to admit that you know theyre nervous, or to acknowledge that the last few weeks have been tough.
